Make Plans to Attend MFLA’s Winter Meeting on January 28th
Can forestry organizations in Massachusetts work together better and have more impact on issues affecting woodlands here? Are there lessons from New Hampshire’s experiences that we could use in Massachusetts? Those are some of the topics that will be considered at MFLA’s Annual Meeting on January 28th
The Winter Meeting will be held at the Salem Cross Inn in West Brookfield on Saturday, January 28th, from 9:30 am to 4 pm. The program will include a discussion by Jasen Stock from New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association about how NHTOA has been effective in creating a coalition to further the interests of New Hampshire landowners. Other portions of the program include a workshop on controlling invasive plants by forester Lincoln Fish and a discussion of current issues and opportunities affecting landowners in Massachusetts.
Cost of the workshop, including a hot lunch, is $30 per person. Students can attend for just $10. A special promotion will give non-members who attend the $30 rate with a free one-year trial membership to MFLA included. A flyer for the winter meeting will be sent to current MFLA members with the annual fund mailing. Registration for the meeting is due by January 24th. Late reservations can be made by emailing Greg Cox at gcox@crocker.com or by calling 413 339-5526
