USGS Makes Historic Topographical Maps Available Online
This Information from Barry Napier, Director, Forest Service Geospatial Service and Technology Center (GSTC)bnapier@fs.fed.us
The USGS is making available its vast, nation-wide collection of 'historic' topographic maps--over 200,000 individual map sheets. The maps are being posted to the USGS Store for download in GeoPDF format. A substantial number of maps are currently available and more are on the way. Anyone involved in monitoring or assessing change over time will find these maps a valuable resource. This effort is a companion to the USGS US Topo Program. Note, Forest Service Single Edition maps produced in cooperation with the USGS from 1994-2007 are being included.
