Since its founding in 1979, the Massachusetts Association of Professional Foresters (MAPF) has served professional foresters who are dedicated to the improvement of the practice of Forestry in The Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
MAPF is an organization of professionals who, through education, training and experience have demonstrated their knowledge and ability in managing forest resources to benefit both landowners and the community at large.
A majority of the practicing professional foresters in the commonwealth are members of MAPF. Together they work to promote sound forest management practices, to educate themselves and inform the public concerning current management techniques and to maintain the standards of the forestry profession through their code of ethics.
